Dr. Giulio Stefanini, Καθηγητής στο Humanitas University, Μιλάνο, Ιταλία, Επισκέπτης Καθηγητής στο Εργαστήριο Βιοϊατρικής Τεχνολογίας της Ιατρικής Σχολής, ΕΚΠΑ.

Giulio Stefanini was born in Rome, Italy, where he studied Medicine and finalized his training in Cardiology at Sapienza University. Thereafter, he completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Bern University Hospital (Bern, Switzerland) supported by a grant of the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) and a competitive grant under the Special Program University Medicine program (SPUM) of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). He also has a PhD in Experimental Medicine at University of Rome Tor Vergata (Rome, Italy), and a MSc in Health Economics and Management in Cardiovascular Sciences at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (London, UK), supported by a ESC scholarship. He currently holds a professorship at Humanitas University and works as clinical and interventional cardiologist at Humanitas Research Hospital (Milan, Italy), where he also serves as Head of linical research of the Cardio Center. His research is currently funded by competitive grants obtained from the Italian Ministry of Health, the Italian Ministry of Research, and the Italian Medicines Agency. He is Chair of the EAPCI Scientific Documents Committee and member of the Executive Group of the ESC Scientific Documents Committee. He has authored more than 280 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has a H-index of 53. For his research work he was awarded the William Harvey Award of the Italian Society of Cardiology in 2014, and was nominated for the Health Young Physician Leaders programme by the Accademia dei Nazionale dei Lincei in 2019.
